1934 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-001

Description

This 1934 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-001, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1934-D 1¢ WRPM-001. The mint mark is D/D West. Stage A shows a strong secondary vertical bar with a curve inside the primary D, a die chip on the front of the neck just above the collar, and a north-south gouge on the upper vest fold near the lapel. The secondary weakens through Stages B and C and shows as a thin west bar on Stage D. Reverse: a light gouge right of the first U in UNUM (A), light north-south cracks on the left wheat (B-C), and on Stage D a new reverse die with a strong scratch running north from inside the second U of PLURIBUS.
