1930 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-004

Description

1930-D WRPM-004 is a repunched mint mark on the 1930-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated): the secondary D is tilted relative to the primary. Obverse Stage A: a strong secondary mint mark and scratches running south from the Y of LIBERTY, one from each fork. On Stage B those scratches are gone and the secondary D is slightly weaker; a gouge runs from the upper left corner of TRUST's second T to the rim, and a scratch sits above the right side of that T. Reverse Stage A shows heavy metal pull between E PLURIBUS UNUM and the rim, heaviest at UNUM. Stage B uses a new reverse die, with a WSW scratch off the left of the T in CENT, near its top, and SW scratches from the left underside of the T's horizontal bar. Lloyd Hanson submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #4; the Coppercoins number is 1930D-1MM-004.
