1930 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-003

Description

1930-D WRPM-003 is a repunched mint mark on the 1930-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D North, with the secondary D north of the primary. Obverse Stage A: scratches running SE below the bust, and an east-west scratch crossing the vest, west of the date's 1 near its base. On Stage B those scratches are weaker, the heaviest one remaining at the last fold of the vest. Reverse Stage A: a SSW scratch from the left underside of the T's horizontal bar in CENT, and a slightly curving SSW scratch from the upper left of the same T's vertical bar. On Stage B these have been abraded away. Brian Allen submitted Stage A (upgraded by Lloyd Hanson) and Doug Yost Stage B. CONECA lists it as RPM #3; the Coppercoins number is 1930D-1MM-003. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
