Description
Recorded by VarietyVista, this 1930 Denver Wheat Cent carries a repunched D with an early-state obverse marker positioned in a visually prominent area. Die markers: UVC-029, DMR-004. Stage A: Light horizontal die scratch from vest toward lower 1 of date — EDS; reverse is EDS. Stage B: MDS (unconfirmed). Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). The vest-to-date die scratch provides a confirming diagnostic visible even on specimens where the mintmark area may be partially worn. The low UVC number (029) suggests this was among the earlier die pairs documented for the 1930-D. Struck at Denver in 1930, composed of 95% copper, 5% tin/zinc (3.11 g, 19.05 mm), the Denver Mint produced approximately 40.1 million cents, each die receiving its D through manual punch application at Philadelphia.
