Description

Cross-referenced as FS-501, this VarietyVista-documented primary RPM for the 1911-S Lincoln Wheat Cent holds an S/S West displacement from just the third year of San Francisco Lincoln Cent production. Die markers span two pairings: UVC-006 / DMR-002 for Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B with obverse at EMDS and a die crack from the lower right wheat to rim at LDS; Stage C with obverse at MDS and a die chip outside the middle right wheat at LDS. Then UVC-1145 / DMR-004: Stage D with obverse at LMDS, the reverse die changed at MDS, a light die crack from the middle right wheat to rim, and a very light die crack from the upper right wheat to rim. The wheat stalk cracks persisting across the reverse die change confirm this was a weak point in the reverse design. The FS-501 listing makes this actively sought by Cherrypickers' Guide users. Struck in 95% copper at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm.
