The 1911 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent is a cent from the San Francisco Mint, belonging to the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. The San Francisco Mint struck 4,026,000 cents dated 1911. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right, the first real person depicted on a U.S. circulating coin and the reverse displays two wheat stalks framing ONE CENT, symbolizing American agriculture. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. The San Francisco Mint, a Gold Rush-era institution, now specializes in proof and collector coinage. Estimated market value ranges from $38 to $438 depending on grade and condition.
