1878-S VAM-1E Die Gouges in Right Wreath Discovered by Larry Briggs,August 2002. 1E II 1· B2a (Die Gouges in Right Wreath) (181) Reverse B2a– Heavy, broad die gouges in outer leaves of second and third leaf clusters from bottom of right wreath plus die gouge on left side of M in AMERICA. Comments: ''May Not exist please verify with 1878-S VAM-103 Die #5 ,If not sure please post photo's on main message board image:1878-S_VAM-1E_PLATE_9_OCT_2010.jpg Same reverse as VAM 1E, but in fact a VAM103 die 5 coin. Pictures of a V 1E Obverse would confirm its existence.
