=1878-S VAM-1 Normal Die= Discovered by Howard Newcomb, February 1913. 1 II1 - B2a (Normal Die) (184) Obverse II1 - Broken point on star 4 right. 7 doubled slightly on right side (a hub defect). Reverse B2a - Small III S mint mark. DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position.
