Flowing Hair Wreath Cents 1793

About This Series

The second design of 1793 large cents replaced the controversial chain reverse with a wreath of laurel and berries. Designed by Adam Eckfeldt, these coins retained the flowing hair Liberty obverse. Approximately 63,000 were struck, making them scarce but more available than the chain cents that preceded them.
