Description
2025 WDDO-008 is a doubled die obverse on the 2025 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is slightly north, on the first 2 of the date and inside the opening of the Y in LIBERTY. Obverse markers: under the 0 of the date, a diagonal gouge; between LIBERTY's T and Y, a curved scratch; beneath the Y, a light horizontal scratch; a curved crack heading NW out of the eyebrow into the forehead; a vertical crack in the hair below WE; and a light vertical crack on the jacket's lower lapel. Reverse markers: a group of light scratches through the ITED of UNITED; a curved crack heading SW from the O in ONE, starting at its lower left edge; and a light crack on the shield at its lower left edge. Steven J. Bernatowicz submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
