Error
Description
Doubling shows slightly north on the first 2 in the date and in the opening of the Y in LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse: A diagonal die gouge shows below the 0 in the date. A curved die scratch shows between the letters T and Y in LIBERTY. A light, horizontal die scratch runs below the Y in LIBERTY. A curved die crack runs northwest from Lincoln’s eyebrow into his forehead. A vertical die crack is present in Lincoln’s hair below WE. A light, vertical die crack shows on the lower lapel of Lincoln’s jacket. Reverse: A series of light die scratches run through the letters ITED in UNITED. A curved die crack runs southwest from the lower left edge of the O in ONE. A light die crack shows on the lower left edge of the shield. Submitted By: Steven J.
