Description
Strong doubling to the NW on the 20 in the date and the lower hair detail. Additional strong doubling to the SW on the ear and upper hair detail.Die Markers: Obverse: Large die gouge below the W in WE. Die gouge below the R in TRUST. Die gouge below the S in TRUST. Die gouge far right of the nose. Reverse: Die gouge between the two rightmost arches on the lower right side of the Capitol Building. Die gouge inside the U in EQUAL. Thin die crack across the tip of the nose. Thin E/W die scratch below the ear. Large die gouge on the upper curve of the first 2 in the day. Small die gouge above the first 2 in the date. Small die gouge on neck NE of the designer's initials LGF. Thin NW/SE die scratch right of WE. Die gouge at the rim right of the L in LIBERTY. Small die gouge at the rim above the B in LIBERTY. Reverse: Thin E/W die scratches throughout most of the reverse. Thin NW/SE die scratches through AMERICA and the top of the Title IX paper. Short E/W die scratches between the I and X in TITLE IX. Die gouge above the RT in OPPORTUNITY.
