2024 (P) Hon. Patsy Takemoto Mink Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-006

Description

2024-P PTM WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 2024-P Hon. Patsy Takemoto Mink quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling to the south shows in the hair over the ear. Obverse markers: a north-south crack on the eye and another on the cheek left of the nose; a feeder finger scrape behind the ear; a gouge in front of the chin; a gouge at the inner curve of the date's last 2; and a small gouge under the T of LIBERTY. The reverse is WDDR-003, with strong doubling to the SW on Mink's bracelet and at the Title IX papers' lower left corner, plus slight doubling under her thumb, over the lua to the left of the dome of the Capitol Building, and on her hair near the top of the Statue of Freedom on the Capitol dome. Reverse markers: cracks and chips along the underside of Mink's extended wrist; a chip and two pre-die break depressions over the UA of EQUAL; a NE/SW crack across her right elbow; a crack heading SE from her armpit; a weak gouge over her right shoulder; a weak gouge in the S of PATSY, upper curve; gouges inside the first U of PLURIBUS and inside the N of UNUM (upper opening); a gouge between the bases of the I and T of UNITED; a gouge over the OR of OPPORTUNITY and another NE of its Y; a gouge between the A and T of PATSY; and a gouge inside the Y of PATSY.
