2022 (P) Dr. Sally Ride Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-005

Description

2022-P SR WDDR-005 is a doubled die reverse on the 2022-P Dr. Sally Ride quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. Slight doubling lies east of Ride's jacket collar, over her left shoulder; it overlaps the WMDR-001 doubling almost perfectly. Both sides carry Wexler's master die doubling: WMDO-001 on the obverse and WMDR-001 on the reverse. Obverse markers: chips on the back of the mouth; on the nose, a crack accompanied by two pre-die break depressions; a NW/SE crack on the eye; two north-south cracks on the bust's base; light NE/SW feeder finger scrapes between the ponytail and neck and behind the ear; a large gouge in the middle of the neck; a small gouge inside the first 2 of the date, lower opening; small gouges over the R in TRUST, toward its right side; a gouge left of the W of WE; a small gouge right of the upright stroke of the L in LIBERTY; and to the right of the T in LIBERTY, a gouge. Reverse markers: at the rim over the T in UNITED, on its left side, a gouge; gouges right of that T and inside the E of UNITED (upper opening); a gouge to the right of the final T in STATES; one inside the first A of AMERICA, lower opening; one under the N of UNUM; one over Ride's right shoulder; one right of the E's base in QUARTER; and gouges left of the R and left of the D in RIDE.
