Description

2022-D WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2022-D Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The date is doubled toward the NW, and the RUS of TRUST and LIBERTY show light extra thickness. Obverse markers: a series of short diagonal scratches under the eye; a series of diagonal scratches running SE from the lips and mouth; diagonal scratches running NW from the back of the neck, NE of the Y in LIBERTY; and a series of diagonal scratches below and SW of the mint mark. Reverse markers: a series of vertical scratches in the M of AMERICA, in its upper opening; a crack on the shield's upper left edge above the PLU of PLURIBUS; a gouge (dot) above the US of PLURIBUS, between the two letters; and a gouge (dot) right of the upper right curl of the ribbon.
