Description

2022-D WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 2022-D Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Moderate extra thickness runs through the reverse lettering; it stands out most on the lower serifs of USA (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA). On the obverse, the 0 of the date has a small gouge touching its top, and a small gouge sits between LIBERTY's B and E, low down. On the reverse, a crack crosses the left part of the shield's top. The T in UNITED has a gouge touching its lower left serif. Small gouges lie to the right of AMERICA's last A and SE of the F in the initials JFM; there is a gouge under the left side of the scroll, and another between the tops of ONE's O and N. Frank Baumann III submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
