Description
The 2016 (P) Fort Moultrie National Park Quarter is a quarter produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. Total mintage reached 154.4 million. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon, while the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. Designed by John Flanagan/Richard Scott. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #597057. The America the Beautiful Quarters Program (2010-2021) continued the legacy of rotating reverse designs, featuring national parks, monuments, forests, and historic sites. The program included both standard clad quarters and special 5 oz. silver bullion versions. Silver proof and First Day of Issue specimens are popular with collectors.
