Description
2016-P SC WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 2016-P Fort Moultrie (Fort Sumter National Monument) quarter (South Carolina) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling shows at the bottom of the coat worn by Sergeant William Jasper. On the obverse, a weak gouge lies far over GOD's G. Reverse markers: die breaks on each sail's right side; a break on Jasper's shoulder; many breaks on top of his left arm; a long crack along the flag's left side, ending at a die chip at the crescent's bottom; a chip on top of Jasper's hat; and a small gouge in the middle of the field under his hands. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
