Description

2009P(SAC)-100DEO-002T is a 2009 Native American dollar obverse with trails from the bottoms of the letters in IN and WE, and weaker signs of trails in TRUST. The offset direction is 200°, south-southwest. In TrailDies' scheme, 2009P is the date and Philadelphia mint, (SAC) the Sacagawea obverse design, 100 the dollar, DEO an obverse design extension, 002 the file, and the closing T marks trails. Siddiq Shahid found it. The middle-state coin described has two small gouges on Sacagawea's right shoulder, and the reverse has a gouge under the O of OF. Trails are normally explained by rotary polishing of the die; a smaller number of specialists blame die-to-hub movement.
