Description
Trails on 2009P(DC)-25DEO-007T come from the lower ends of the Q, A and R in QUARTER and slant east-southeast at 110°, down and to the right. TrailDies built the number from the date and mint (2009P), the District of Columbia design (DC), the quarter (25), the obverse design extension (DEO), file 007 and the trail type T. The middle-die-state coin can be checked by a die break on the base of Washington's bust; nothing is noted on the reverse. Steven Bernatowicz found it. Such trails are normally blamed on the die being polished with a rotary buff; a minority view links them to the die moving on the hub.
