Description
On 2009P(DC)-25DEO-004T, a 2009 Philadelphia quarter of the District of Columbia design, the trails are limited to RTY in LIBERTY and point south-southeast at 150°. TrailDies' number breaks into date and mint (2009P), design tag (DC), denomination (25), side (DEO, design extension obverse), file (004) and type (T). The coin described is a middle die state with no obverse markers. Its reverse is cross-referenced to the die listed as WDDR-007, which gives a second way to confirm the pair. Steve Bernatowicz found it. Trails are generally attributed to die polishing with a rotating buff, though a few writers trace them to the die moving against the hub.
