Description

2007P(TJ)-100DER-001T is a Thomas Jefferson Presidential dollar with a single trail line on the reverse, running north from the numeral 1 of the dollar denomination at an offset of 010°, just east of due north. The number stands for 2007 Philadelphia (2007P), Jefferson's initials (TJ), the dollar (100), a reverse design extension (DER), the 001 file, and T for trails. Bob Piazza of Florida found the die. TrailDies lists two stages: stage A shows no markers, while at stage B a small gouge appears next to the J of JEFFERSON and small cracks form on both sides of the base of the 1. Most writers trace trails to a rotary polishing tool on the die, a few to the die moving against the hub.
