Liberty's neck and shoulder can be seen clashed into Jefferson's left eye, while part of Liberty's robe can be seen clashed into the corner of Jefferson's right eye. The clash mark to the left of Jefferson"s right eye is the outline of the 1 digit. Part of Liberty's crown can be seen in the field adjacent to Jefferson's neck. Parts of Jefferson's neck and coat collar can be seen clashed into the area around the torch. Elements of Jefferson's face can be seen clashed into the area under Liberty's chin, giving it the appearance of an extra ray in the crown.
