2007 (P) Utah State Quarter - P(UT)-25DEO-001T Trail Die Obverse

Description

2007P(UT)-25DEO-001T names a 2007 Philadelphia quarter of the Utah design, with 25 for the denomination and DEO for the obverse category; 001 is the file and T, as usual, means trails. The lines hang from the bottoms of RTY in LIBERTY and of the letters of QUARTER, and run east-southeast at 120°, down and to the right. TrailDies' middle-die-state coin has a crack, with a chip, at the lower left tip of Washington's bust that carries into the field. Nothing is noted on the reverse. Tanaka Davis found the die. Trails like these are usually traced to polishing of the die face with a rotary buff, and occasionally to the die moving against the hub.
