2007 (P) Utah State Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

2007-P UT WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 2007-P Utah state quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is on the spike right of the right-facing train engine, along the spike's lower left side. Wexler notes no obverse markers. On the reverse, die pitting appears near the rim over the left end of the mountains and over the front of the left-facing engine; "trails" run NNE from the tops of the digits of 1896 and from some of the letters of CROSSROADS OF THE WEST, at their tops; and a heavy scratch runs ENE to the rim from the T of WEST at its upper right. Gerald Weakland submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.

Die pitting shows above the front of the train engine facing to the left. “Trails” run NNE from the top of the digits in 1896 and from the tops of some of the letters in CROSSROADS OF THE WEST.
