Description

2007D-1DER-001WS is a Denver wavy-step reverse whose steps bend lightly beneath columns 5, 6 and 7, with the lines running at 180°, due south. Wavy steps are trail lines that cross the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial so that the steps look bent. In the number, 2007D is year and mint, 1 the cent, DER the reverse, 001 the file, and WS the wavy-step class. On the middle-die-state coin TrailDies describes, two dots lie between the digits of the date, and a small gouge sits in and over the O of ONE. Rotary polishing of the die is the usual explanation, with die-to-hub movement a less common one.
