2007 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DEO-004T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Trails hang below LIBERTY's letters on 2007D-1DEO-004T and run at 180°, down toward the lower rim. The entry gives no strength grade for them. Read it as 2007D, a Denver coin of 2007; 1, one cent; DEO, obverse design extension; 004, the file; T, trails. The middle-die-state coin has a small gouge right of the mint mark; no reverse markers were found. Allan White found the die. Trails like these are generally linked to rotary polishing of the die, with some instead pointing to movement between the die and the hub.
