Description

2004D-1DER-005WS is a 2004 Denver Lincoln cent reverse with light wavy steps. TrailDies' number reads as Denver's 2004 (2004D), denomination 1, the reverse design-extension tag DER, file 005, and WS, wavy steps, where trails run over the Memorial's staircase and appear to bow it. Here the bending spans columns 5 to 8 and is heavier on the left. The lines point to 180°, due south. No die markers are listed on either face of its middle-die-state coin. Trails are usually explained by polishing of the die, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
