Description
Trails on 2002P(IN)-25DER-001T show in the date 1816, the stars, CROSSROADS and UNUM, and run south-southeast at 150°. The number covers a 2002 Philadelphia quarter with the Indiana design (IN), where 25 is the denomination, DER places it in TrailDies' reverse design extension list, and 001T is its file and type. On the late-die-state coin, a crack follows the bottom of Washington's bust and enters the field on the left, heavy flow lines flank the T of QUARTER, and on the reverse a crack crosses the race car's left tire. Steve Bernatowicz found it. A rotary polishing buff applied to the die is the usual suspect for trails, though some instead blame movement of the die against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage "C", obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen along the bottom of Washington's bust, entering into the field on the left side. Strong die deterioration flow lines are seen on either side of the T in QUARTER.
- Reverse is LDS – a die crack is seen on the left tire of the race car.
