Description
Trails come off the stars below UNITED and STATES on 2000P(SAC)-100DER-003T, a 2000 Sacagawea dollar reverse, and point 060°, east-northeast. The code breaks into 2000P (year and Philadelphia mint), (SAC) for the Sacagawea design, 100 for the coin's dollar denomination, DER for a design extension on the reverse, and 003T for file 003 with trails. The coin TrailDies describes is late (stage C): a crack runs from the bridge of Sacagawea's nose down through her lips, and the reverse has a worn, abraded clash mark through E PLURIBUS UNUM. TrailDies gives the finder as Steven Bernatowics. Rotary polishing of the die is usually given as the cause of trails, with the die moving against the hub as a minority explanation.

- Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die crack extends from the bridge of Sacagawea’s nose and down through her lips.
- Reverse is LDS – there is an abraded die clash through the motto EPU.
