1999 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-024

Description

1999 WDDR-024 is a doubled die reverse on the 1999 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The 7th column shows the doubling along its left side, right of the center of the statue. On the obverse, a heavy gouge lies well south of the second 9 in the date, below its left side, a gouge is SE of the D in GOD, and one touches the lower right tip of the E in WE. NW of the first T in TRUST are two concentric die scratches. A scratch sits at the rim, well to the east of TRUST's second T, and a small dot lies east of that T. On the reverse, gouges appear left of the U in UNITED, left of the Memorial base near its top, and right of the cornice. In AMERICA, one sits between the bottoms of the I and C, and another lies right of the second A, at its top. A horizontal gouge lies right of the bottom of the 12th column, one is left of the F in FG, and one is inside the C of CENT. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
