Description

ADC-1c-1999-02 A particularly strong obverse / reverse die clash that is unabraded found on a 1999 Lincoln cent, There is a slight tilt between  the dies (1°) which is well within  the tolerances set by the Mint. What makes this clash unusual when compared to others is the clash marks left by the stairs in the Memorial building.  This clash is very similar to ADC-1C-1999-06.  Care must be taken when comparing where the clash meets the front and back of Lincoln’s profile to distinguish between the two. The first picture shows the fine clash marks left by the stairs in the Memorial building. These marks will soon fade after the continues striking of coins by this die. The reverse die shows a die chip on the cornice above column one which will help identify this die clash. This coin is courtesy of Bob Piazza.
