Description
1994D-1DER-022 is printed by TrailDies without a suffix letter, though its heading carries a T and the entry describes trails. The number covers a 1994 Denver cent (1994D, 1), a reverse design extension (DER) and file 022. The tops of the EPU letters are slightly distorted, and faint lines leave the scrollwork in the Memorial's roof and the tops of the right-hand columns, all at 010°, just east of due north, toward the top of the coin. On the middle-die-state reverse a gouge sits between ONE and CENT, at the E and C, with small gouges under the last A of AMERICA. Aisha Shahid found it. Rotary polishing of the die is the explanation most often given for trails; a smaller camp ties them to the die moving on the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – none noted.
- Reverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen between the E of ONE and the C of CENT. A series of small die gouges can be seen under the last A of AMERICA.
