Description

1994D-1DER-010WS runs at 200°, south-southwest, down and a little to the left. Its fluting lines extend moderately into the stylobate under the second and third columns, and the stairs below columns 5, 6 and 7 bend lightly to moderately. The number is TrailDies' code for a 1994 Denver cent whose reverse carries a design extension (DER), filed as 010, of the wavy-step type (WS), where trail lines crossing the steps make them look uneven. TrailDies observed no obverse markers on its middle-die-state coin; the reverse has a gouge separating UNITED's I and T. Polishing the die with a rotary tool is the generally accepted cause, with die-against-hub movement offered by some as an alternative.
