1994 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-005WS Trail Die Reverse

Description

A die crack on the obverse, running from Lincoln's beard up to the crown of his head, is the marker TrailDies gives for 1994D-1DER-005WS; nothing was noted on its middle-die-state reverse. The wavy steps themselves are light, below columns 5, 6 and 7, offset 180°, due south. They are trails crossing the Memorial's stairs, enough to put a slight bend in the steps. The number breaks into 1994D, the Denver date; 1, the cent; DER, reverse design extension; 005, the file; and WS. Trails are generally attributed to a rotary buff polishing the die, although some argue the die moved against the hub instead.
