Description
1994D-1DER-003WS is strongest at the left of the stylobate, where fluting from the second and third columns carries down strongly. The step deviation is light and limited to columns 5 and 6. Both run at 190°, a little west of due south. TrailDies' number: 1994D for the Denver date, 1 for one cent, DER, design extension (reverse), 003 as the file and WS meaning wavy steps, the name given when trail lines run across the stairs and kink them. No obverse markers were found on the middle-die-state coin; the reverse has a scratch separating CENT's C and E and horizontal scratches in the bays on the left. Like trails generally, these are most often traced to the die being polished with a rotary tool, while some attribute them to the die's movement against the hub.

- Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted
- Reverse is MDS – die scratch between the C and E of CENT. Horizontal die scratches are seen in the left side bays.
