1994 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-002WS Trail Die Reverse

Description

Light step deviation below columns 5, 6 and 7 is the only trail feature TrailDies records for 1994D-1DER-002WS, running at 180°, straight down the coin. Wavy steps are trails that pass across the Memorial's stairs, bending the lines of the steps. In the code, 1994D is the Denver date, 1 the denomination, DER the reverse-side design extension and 002 the file, followed by WS. Two small chips help pin the die down on the middle-die-state coin: one on the D mint mark itself, the other on and just below the last A of AMERICA. Polish applied to the die with a rotary buff is the usual suspect, though a few attribute the lines to the die moving against the hub.
