Description
1992D-1DER-001WS is a 1992 Denver cent reverse in TrailDies' wavy-step series: 1992D is year and mint, 1 the cent, DER a reverse design extension, 001 the file, WS wavy steps, meaning trails that cut across the Memorial's stairs and bend them. The left columns carry most of the effect. Fluting from columns 1 and 2 extends strongly into the stylobate and from column 3 moderately; the stairs bend moderately under column 5 and lightly under 6 and 7. All of it runs at 190°, just west of due south. TrailDies' late-die-state coin has a gouge inside and below the G of GOD and two gouges low in the O of ONE. The find is credited to Bill Slaughter of Arkansas. Polishing of the die with a rotary tool is the usual explanation; some prefer the die moving against the hub.

- Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die gouge on the inside and below the G of GOD.
- Reverse is LDS – two die gouges in the lower part of the loop of the O in ONE.
