Obverse Stage B: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die gouge under Y in LIBERTY. Die scratch above T in LIBERTY. Die gouge in lower date between 7 and 9. Small die gouge right of upper E in WE and well right of lower E in WE. Die gouge below and left of lower G in GOD. Die scratch at Lincoln’s eye. Obverse Stage B: Die gouge under Y in LIBERTY weaker. Die gouge in lower date weaker. Die gouge under first right shoulder fold. Reverse Stage A: Die gouges left of upper A in STATES and left, right, and above E in EPU. Die crack on upper column 1. Die scratch runs SSW from I in AMERICA. Reverse Stage B: Reverse die changed. Die gouge under U in UNITED. N to S die scratch through upper O in ONE. Two parallel die scratches running SE from the inside left side of C in CENT. Die scratch runs from the middle of D in UNITED to the first S in STATES. N to S die scratches through left side of memorial base. NE to SW die scratches through right side of memorial base. Small die crack at the right memorial base tip. Obverse Stage A:
