Description
Produced at the Denver Mint, the 1979 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent is part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C. The "filled S" and "clear S" proof varieties are collected. Standard business strikes from P and D. Denver's mint evolved from a frontier assay office into one of the nation's primary coin production facilities, opening in 1906.
