Description
1970-D WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 1970-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Its Class V clockwise (CW) spread pivots near 8:00 and shows on STATES OF AMERICA, the upper oak leaves and UNUM, with a slighter spread on the torch flame and on ONE DIME. On the obverse, a die scratch running SSW to NNE lies above the second T in TRUST. On the reverse, a small gouge sits halfway between the tops of A and M in AMERICA; from the rim over the left side of that M, short gouges extend; and a scratch heads north from the top right of the second U in UNUM. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
