Description

A Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 8:00 shows on STATES OF AMERICA, slightly on the torch flame, the upper oak leaves, UNUM, and slightly on ONE DIME. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die scratches run SW/NE between the Y of LIBERTY and the hair above the front of the forehead. Obverse Stage B: Nearly vertical die scratches can be found to the left of the lips, nose, and eyes. Reverse Stage A: A small die gouge can be found on the inner left side of the first U in PLURIBUS. A small die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the oak leave that is to the right of the upper bands. Reverse Stage B: N/S die scratches run through the E and the P in PLURIBUS. Die scratches run from the 2nd A in AMERICA to the right dot.
