Description
Cross-referenced as Fivaz-Stanton FS-102/501, this VarietyVista-documented 1969-S Proof Washington Quarter shows an S/S/S North, North triple-punched mintmark with the obverse also listed as DDO-002, creating a multi-variety proof coin. Die markers UVC-1188 / DMR-003 track three stages: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C at LDS (unconfirmed). Specimens are needed for new color digital photographs. The Fivaz-Stanton dual listing as both FS-102 and FS-501 reflects its significance under multiple variety classification systems. Designed by John Flanagan, struck at the San Francisco Mint in copper-nickel clad at 5.67 grams and 24.26 mm exclusively for proof sets.
