Description

Documenting a fascinating intersection of die-level and hub-level errors, the 1968-S Proof Washington Quarter WDDO-002 carries a northward spread on IGWT (IN GOD WE TRUST) from a working die doubled die obverse, while its reverse exhibits doubling inherited from WMHR-002 — a Working Master Hub Reverse error. This distinction is numismatically significant: the obverse doubling is confined to this specific working die, but the reverse doubling originated at the master hub level, meaning every working die produced from that hub carries the same reverse anomaly. A small die gouge between S and T in STATES on the reverse provides an additional attribution marker. No significant obverse markers have been noted.
