The broad scope of affected elements — spanning inscriptions and decorative features across the entire reverse — confirms substantial rotational hub displacement during the die-sinking process. This variety is further distinguished by a dual-variety obverse: the die carries a repunched mintmark listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1968-S 25-cent Proof WRPM-007, showing an S over S displacement to the west. A small die gouge sits just above the right side of the mintmark. On the reverse, a die gouge appears on the eagle's right wing to the right of the I in UNITED.
