Description
Just one trail line marks 1964PR-1DEO-002T: it drops from the bottom of the R in TRUST at 160°, south-southeast, heading down and a little to the right. The number gives a 1964 proof (PR) Lincoln Memorial cent (1) with an obverse design extension (DEO), file 002, and T for trails. TrailDies credits the find to Bob Piazza of Florida and lists no die markers for this die, so the lone line under the R is what identifies it, and a good look at the motto is the way to confirm it. Opinion mostly ties trails to rotary die polishing, while some think the die moved against the hub.
