1963 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

Primary doubled die obverse for the 1963 Philadelphia Mint Washington Quarter, WDDO-001 exhibits strong spread towards center on IN GOD WE TRUST, the date, the designer's initials, and the lower queue of Washington's hair ribbon. Obverse die markers include a die dent at the upper left of the B in LIBERTY, a die scratch running southwest from the lower right of the R in TRUST, a light die crack across the base of the bust, and a die crack running east-west through the upper hair detail. On the reverse, a die crack descends down the eagle's right wing, and another die crack passes through the leaves above AR in DOLLAR. Cross-referenced as CONECA 1-O-II and Cherrypickers FS-25-1963-101 (023), this variety carries strong collector recognition under both major attribution services. The convergent spread toward center on multiple design elements — motto, date, and initials simultaneously — confirms genuine Class II hub doubling from offset rotation.
