1963 (D) Washington Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-009

Description

1963-D WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 1963-D Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is visible on the 1 and 6 of the date, along their lower left. On the obverse, scratches head SW off the bottom of the U in TRUST and off the first T in TRUST from its lower left, and a scratch leaves the top of the G in GOD and runs NE to the nose. On the reverse, a gouge lies left of the upper I in AMERICA. Dennis Fisher submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
