1963 (D) Washington Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-005

Description

1963-D WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1963-D Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The spread is to the north, on the lower queue, the date and IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, a long scratch heads SE off the Y of LIBERTY from its upper right, a short scratch heads SSW off the I from its upper left, and a scratch heads SW off the R from its bottom right. On the reverse, a heavy crack descends the eagle's right wing over its top half, and a crack leaves the back of the eagle's head and curves to the SE. Joe Rizdy submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
