1959 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-004

Description

1959-D WRPM-004 is a repunched mint mark on the 1959-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler's description is a D/D/D/D with the extra impressions given as Northwest, Tilted, and Tilted (Rotated). Many crisscrossing scratches cross LIBERTY. On the reverse, short gouges run south off the lower left cluster of olive leaves, and other short gouges cross the upper olive. Tim Wissert submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #3. It was FS-10-1959D-503 in the Cherrypickers' Guide, a number Wexler notes was removed in the 6th Edition. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
